I like it, tell us a little bit about it.

Seeb 06-23-2010 05:58 PM

a 97,with 5.7L and auto, 161k miles and as you can see sport pkg and pretty clean...the truck looks to have been loved !!! :D
It'll be parked right next to the 86 K5

Hank70SS 06-23-2010 06:15 PM

Very nice! K5 too, I always liked those, never owned one but always wanted one.

EDIT: Guess I should have said the old style K5.

grumpy 06-23-2010 06:33 PM

Always wanted one of those. Were just too darn expensive. Very clean looking truck you got there.

And not enough room, especially when 5 or 6 kids were still at home.

But I am a Chevy/GM girl at heart. I have had the Minivan, now we own a full size Astro and we love it. I had a Venture and that was the best damn minivan, I sold it to my son and missed it the day he left for Texas. We even tried to buy a used one a few years back, and people wanted way too much money for one.

grandsport 06-24-2010 06:40 PM

I bought Lindsay an Uplander for dog shows, that's been a pretty good van for her. First GM car in the family for years. Chevelles and Corvettes don't count.:p

If your ABS light ever comes on let me know, we make the ABS unit and sensors for that vehicle. That truck was made in Janesville Wis and I was the customer quality engineer at that time and was there twice a month.

The ABS on my 02 Z71 keeps acting up. Kicks in when coming to a slow stop. If the sensors are good I hear you remove the sensors, clean up the rust, apply rust inhibitor and reinstall. Guess I'll give that a try.

EDIT: Talk about hijacking a thread!

grandsport 06-25-2010 08:02 AM

Simmer down now,Hank.:)

Yep...this ones doing the same thing, my BIL says there was a TSB addressing this exact issue...I'm gonna take it to him and let him pull the wheels and give the complete braking system a once over!!

Get it checked out. I'm going to check my today. Scary stopping sometimes, keep pressing harder on the pedal and the ABS just chatters away.

mines not bad, just when moving very slowly and coming to a complete stop.

piette 07-05-2010 09:01 PM

My 98 has bad ABS as well. It did get scarey to drive like that, so I pulled the fuse for it and killed the ABS until I can pull the wheels and sensors and clean them up.

Nice looking truck Seeb, I like that a lot.

Jeff

Hank70SS 07-06-2010 07:01 AM

I pulled one sensor, cleaned it up and reinstalled. The other sensor came out in 2 pieces. I got a new one, $62, installed, still chatters. Pulled the fuse. Guess I'll have to pull the hubs off, someday.

grumpy 07-06-2010 09:03 AM

Our 2000 astro's abs acts up from time to to. I know I seen a bulletin outlining the fix somewhere.

Seeb 07-10-2010 08:03 AM

Thanks Jeff, I like it a lot too....I don't know what happened,I always loved full size Blazers but never bought one.
Somehow I got sidetracked back in 85, bought an S-10 blazer and again in 88 when they came out with the 4.3 FI .....in 92 went to the Pathfinder cause I liked the looks of the 4 dr Pathfinder better...anyway guess I'm making up for it now with this truck and the 86 K5.

The ABS has cleared up, must have just needed a little driving time;)
