Question about rebuild mileage.
I have no doubt that this is one beautiful car. But when you do a total restoration does your mileage go back to zero. Aren't accumulated miles on the car, miles that have been put on the car. But you can list it as "zero" on the rebuilt car. Just wondering if this listing is correct. I hope this made sense.

My opinion is he should state "zero miles since restoration". Then list the actual miles it had before the resto.

That's what I thought. I just wondered how other people thought.

How could a car have zero miles since restro? How does one know that it works?

Exactly what Tony said, it should be listed as 0 since resto. Things are done much diffrently in the corvette circle though, and I am sure this is perfectly acceptable with them, they also restamp blocks and parts to make them numbers matching and that is perfectly acceptable with them as well.

I guess people can say it has as many miles as they wish but it is pretty much illegal to tamper with the odometer..... not that it isnt done! LOL
In my mind the engine might have "X" amount of miles on it since the rebuild ... same as all the other parts but the car itself has "moved" so many miles since its creation. Corvette owners are just anuses ... I got one myself! LOL |
