High School get together

So tonight Grumpy and I are headed to a local bar. I have been invited to a get together of friends from High School. Now I have had contact with some of my friends over the years, I never really kept in contact with most of them. It has been over 25 years since I graduated. I married early and had kids early, while a lot of my friends went away to college, went into the service, and partied all the time.

We may be heading to a bar, but I am not really a big drinker. I kinda don't want to go, and I kinda do.

Any thoughts?

P.S.
If you don't see many posts from me this evening, that must mean that I went.

Sorry was very uneventful. Grumpy and I got to the bar and had something to eat. Actually the food was really good.

I did get to see my best friend from HS, which is the only reason that I went. And we exchanged phone numbers.

Funny thing though, I did remember a few people, those were the ones that were annoying. The "loose girls", and the guys who thought they were bad asses. Just made me laugh that they never changed.

We left after about an hour cause we wanted to go out to Woodward to see what cars were getting ready for the big cruise next weekend. It was busy out there, the cops were ready with the baracades to direct traffic off of Woodward once 10pm hit.

Some people never change. Glad to hear it went ok.

Maureen and I go to both of our reunions. Unlike high school, now I hang out with the women instead of the car guys.:) Mike,do you remember my thread on TC last year about the great time a certain motor head had at his wifes reunion?:p

I went to my 5-year reunion, and although it really wasn't that much fun, it really made me feel good about myself seeing how much more I had my life together than most of my classmates. Many were still living at home, and some were even still getting an allowance. Next summer will be my 10-year, and I'll probably go again. It was fun to see a few old friends.

When I went to my 5 year reunion many years ago, I remember people talking about how they could not believe I had gotten married and had children. They made some degrading comments that made me feel like crap.

This get together, a couple of the same people, have no children and many regrets for not having them.

No matter how hard I have struggled in life, I could not imagine my life without all 6 of my children. No regrets. And definately know that no one will ever make me feel the way those girls did many years ago.

Them broads were some skanky bar flies that only worry is where their next beer is coming from.
