Where is hank????????????????

Hank must be laying under that new motor-home fixing something. I think he said he would check in if he had the chance?

Didn't have to fix anything except the fresh water connection. It leaked a little, worn out hose washer and a little corrosion.

We were pretty busy, my uncle and another couple were there. Went to Saugatuck, one day. Drove down to Indiana another, my uncle wanted to load up on cigarettes. It rained that day so no great lose.

Rained Thursday night but other than that the weather was nice. The colors were nice, had a campfire every night. Got pretty cold Friday night, had to turn on the furnace, the electric heater wasn't enough. Not bad for the first outing, no major mishaps. The dog and cat got use to it right away and acted just like they do at home. My son came out too since he had a weeks vacation to burn, he came back Friday, that's why we had to take the dog and cat with us.

All and all not bad. We could manage for an extended trip to go see some of the country. A bigger MH would be better but not a necessity if it's just Lynda and I.

Motorhome??? That is not camping :D

I have fun being a Assistant Scoutmaster, great time camping with the troop (one day my wife and I will buy a camper too.)

At my age it's camping! :D I like a warm, comfortable bed, heat at night, a shower and bathroom.

No it's not camping, I don't think I called it camping. It's just getting away for a few days and enjoying the outdoors and the company of friends.

Glad it went smooth for you. How does the MH handle?

Hank70SS 10-18-2010 07:33 AM

Like a 'big ole rollin turd' Tony. It's not really that bad, not like a car but not that bad. You do feel the wind from semi's or just blowing across open areas. Don't think I could drive it as long in one day as I would in the car. You have to be driving all the time and I think that would wear you out.

I'm with you man... some of my best childhood memories are from boy scout camping trips, and soon it will be time to get involved again, with my older son. :)

Hank,

Glad to hear the trip went pretty well.

I will tell you one thing about tent/small tent camping, when you are young you can do stuff easily in tight places but when you get older it is a chore to do crazy things, like getting dressed. I just don't move around like I use to.

Hi Hank,
What day were you in Saugatuck Hank?
Carol and I drove thru Douglas in the Chevelle on Sunday.
Glad to hear everything went well in your new house on wheels.

I'm with you on that one. The bathroom is pretty small, so is the shower. I can manage but it sure was nice to take a shower when we got home. The MH came with a double bed but for some reason it was converted to 2 twin, actually bunk size beds. They're just too small, I kept hitting the wall. Yesterday I took out the nightstands, maybe today the bed frames so I can switch it back to a double. A couple pieces of lumber and some new carpet is all it will take. We have very good mattress in the spare room, guess I'll have to buy a cheap one to put in there.

The rest isn't too bad, more room would be nice but it's okay. If we find we really like this then maybe we'll move up to a bigger model.
