Garage flood.
 

Well, maybe not a flood, but with all the rain we had today, my garage has an inch of water in it and rising. I scrambled to get most of the tools and other stuff off the ground.

I've lived in my home since 1994 and this is a first and hopefully last time this happens. I guess I shouldn't complain too much after thinking of our fellow Americans who just went through real flooding and terrible hurricanes. :(

Sorry to hear that Mike, hopefully nothing is ruined. As I recall your yard is pretty level but with all this rain, who knows. They said some areas here in SE MI got 4" of rain today and the ground was already saturated. We have ditches out front and along the side of our house. I guess you call them ditches but they have grass in them and I haven't seen water in them in the 9+ years we've been here, until today. Not a lot but a few areas have puddles.

As you said, we can complain about the rain but it's nothing compared to other areas of the country.

Mike I am sorry to hear about the flooding you have. I hope that everything works out.
We were fortunate that the only thing that happened to us was a wet floor in the garage and grass seed that was washed away.

grumpy and I were just talking about one of our members on Audiokarma that lives in Missouri, who lost everything. He is currently homeless, but thankful that his family is OK.

I hope that everyone living through Mother Nature's current fury will come out safe.

Thanks. I took the day off to clean up what little mess I had in the garage. It was mostly just a few wet boxes that needed to be tossed, other than that, everything is ok since I had plenty of time to get things off the ground. I have been pumping water out of the yard and running the furnace in the garage, so things are pretty dry now.



Hopefully things will work out for people who really have it bad and the crazy weather across the country will stop soon so we can get on with summer.

Glad to hear not much was damaged. Mother nature has been busy this year all over the country.

Lot's of flooding in SE MI. We crossed over Hines Drive earlier today. For those that don't know it runs along the Rouge River through several cities with park land on both sides of the road. It's a natural flood plane so the road is often closed when we get a lot of rain. Today you wouldn't even know there is road down there. Couldn't see any of the parking areas or baseball fields. Kid's play structures were almost completely submersed and picnic tables floating in the water. Never seen that much water there before.
