Hello All
Just signed up and will have many questions. I just purchased a 68 Chevelle from an auction yesterday. Been sitting in an old man's garage for many years. I believe it was set up to race since it shifts at about 3300 rpms. That includes tire churping as well. Very cool.

Welcome to the site! Very cool! But 3,300 rpm's isn't very high at all. I shifted my Olds Cutlass at 6,200 rpm and my friend shifted his 468 big block at 7,200 rpm's.
Regardless, it sounds like you have a fun car, and there's nothing wrong with a '68! It happens to be one of my favorite years. Can we see some pictures? |
Welcome to the site from a fellow 68 owner. 3300 rpms? You got a diesel in that thing? lol

Hi Stan,welcome! Waving
|
Thanks
Now that I finally stopped the car, I realized the transmission module vacum line was so dry rotted it split and was dangling. Replaced that and now my shift points are about 2400 rpms. Now that makes a little more sense. I really need to go ahead and replace all the rubber hoses. It's just hard to stop driving it long enough...
Thanks for the welcomes. I appreciate it. |
Welcome to the site and congrats on your purchased.

Welcome, sounds like your having some fun. That's what Chevelles were made for!
|
Welcome Stan, it sounds like you got a car that you wanted. So what other cars have you/ do you own ?

My Other Car
Since you asked...My "other car" is a 66 Mustang. At the time, I couldn't afford a nice Chevelle or Camaro. I lucked into this 68. Otherwise, I could never afford it.
