Good job, :ntwrthy: The borrower is always the slave to the lender. I haven't had a credit card for years. Christmas is always cash. All I have is my house to finish paying off . It's nice not having car payments also to worry about. Again good job and put a emergeny fund away that way you won't have to use your credit card. Start with a $500 to $1000 and build from there.

Congrats! My wife and I did the same thing.

yeah man i am saving. every pay check i put 50-100 bucks aside for what we call the stash. and for Christmas i have put aside 50-100 a paycheck in my safe so that way i can have all cash for the holidays. i even got my wife into it now so that is perfect. she still has her Kohls card i am trying to get my hands on but its in her purse..lol. I even closed my summit card! that's big for me! because i am always working on projects and i used it a lot! for me to close my summit card was a big deal and when she saw that she saw i meant business. I have one credit card that is at $5000 and that's for something big like the frig, washer, dryer, heat system for the house or AC system for the house. or something major with one of our daily cars. the rest will be cash from now on! and until i can get about 10-15 grand in my savings then i will even close that card! I opened a college fund for my daughter and every pay i am putting in $35 no matter what! i am all about saving now instead of got to have it now. and man with the deals i am finding online for the parts i need/want its SO HARD...lol!

As mentioned, good job Shaun. Having a credit card is nice at times but it's easy to let them get out of hand.
