rough day for me and my family.

well i got the phone call lastnight about my grand father passing away. He was 83 years old and he was hit with parkinson's and alzheimer's about 5 years ago. My mom and my family did our best to spend time with him and to be around him from that point on, But i was very close to my grandfather. I am 34 years old and the oldest grand child he had so i got to spend a lot of time with him. the news hit me lastnight in a weird way at first i was kind of happy that he was not suffering anymore, because he got that shake and stumble and was always falling and hurting himself from the parkinson. i was sad at first. After about 2 hours after his death it hit me and it took me out. I started thinking about all the great times we had and all the things he has taught me and ibroke down and cried. My eyes where so read they hurt. I couldn't talk to my mom because she was crying so much i couldn't stand it. I woke up this morning saying i could go to work for one more day because the services dont begin until Sunday but when i woke up all i thought about was my grand father. So i stayed home and meet up with my family to be with them. We laughed we cried we shared memories of "pop". So over all i am ok i am working on making a photo story of my grand father but i figured i share with you guys!

It's always rough to lose a loved one. When I lost my grandfather it was hard on me as well. I was just a teenager at the time, but we went to his house darn near every week growing up. At least you had a lot of time to prepare and spend time with him. I'm sorry for your loss.

I love the pictures. It looks like he was a real character!

Sorry to hear about your loss. Hang onto the good memories and spending time with your family right now is a good choice. I lost my parents just a few years back. We will keep ypu and your family in our prayers. Great picture.

Im sorry for your loss as its hard to let them go .My father in law died from Alzheimers over ten years a go and it was hard to let him go even though he did not know we or he was there .Both the diseases your grandfather was aflicted with are both truely horrible to deal with but he was lucky to have a great family to care for him. You will always see him in your memories as he was at his best.
