1966 Chevelle Malibu
3 Attachment(s)
Hi there. I bought a rotiss. restored 66' Chevelle Malibu last spring. It has a 400 SB stroked to a 415. Dynoed at 485 hp. T-350 transmission, 2800 rpm stall, Eaton posi rear-end with 373 gears. Red exterior, black interior with a bench seat and 3 speed auto on the column. Looks very stock until you start it and hear it rumble. Great car not only for cruising but for shows too. Kids love it as much as dad does! You can see the car on youtube under theladder06.
Question: There is no radio in the car or space for it. The plate on the dash says chevelle and that is all. Someone at a car show last summer said that it could be a "blank" Chevelle and could be even more of a collector car. What does that mean--"Blank?" Also, how do I tell? Do I need to run the vin on it? Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Darius |
I don't know about the validity of the "blank" claim, I've seen quite a few with the radio delete. She's a beauty. Welcome.

Thank you. Radio delete I assume was just no radio purchased with the car?

The plate just indicates that no radio was ordered as an option on that car. Removing that plate and there will be holes in the metal portion of the dash for a radio which would then just use a different bezel trim plate. |
Welcome firepiper. Nice car !

Welcome Darius to the site.
I know the 66 used this plate for a radio deleted car that looks like this one. http://kansascity.craigslist.org/pts/2781435827.html The 66 300 deluxe used a plate that was blank like this one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1966-1967-CH...item56484c82dc |
