Faster (the movie) Chevelle SS

so my wife and i watched a movie this weekend and i instantly fell in love! it was the movie Faster with The Rock but he had a car that i was in love with! it was a Chevelle but it looked different to me and i couldnt put my finger on it until i saw the extras. here are a few pics of the car

so after watching the credits i then understood what was so different about it. its a 72 body and chassis with a 70ss front clip. overall it was a great looking car but man i was shocked that i am learning that much about chevelles that i was able to figure out that something looked different about that chevelle and now i know why :)

The Rock is the man!

Sounds like you've completed your indoctrination into the Chevelle brotherhood. Congrats! :D

I have not yet seen that one ,maybe Ill find a DVD during the yard sales this year .Nice looking car even though its a mixed year car. I can understand why they done that because the 71/2 rear looks so much better than the 70.Just my unofficial oppinion.

I've seen the movie when it came out. It's a 71 Malibu cloned into a SS with the 70 front end. Still has the Malibu dash too. I saw pictures of it totaled before on team chevelle so they must have a few I would think.

Yup, they started with a 71'-72' car, but the producers felt the 70' was better looking and something the audience could recognize more.

I think they are all great looking automobiles 64'-72', and I may get flamed for this - but the 73' & 74' cars are starting to grow on me a little.

No flaming from me ,I would love to have a Laguna .I also like the 78 up Malibu Classics but its hard to find one that has not been gutted for racing.

This is what we are doing to mine. (a 1972) But it is going red with black rally stripes, no ss emblem, 454, 4 or 5 speed, black seats with red stitching to match paint and torque thrusts or slot mags.

I love my '72 and I would never harass anyone for their car choices. Everyone has different tastes. Me I like mine black with the silver stripe on the side. I have had a lot of people who like it and some that don't. I think to myself, that is OK, you won't ever have to drive it, cause it's mine, all mine. lol

Miss Grumpy ,I love your car .Now can I drive it ?

What's up with a 70 front end?
