question for anyone Re: manual choke
A friend of mine just put in a Holley spreadbore double pumper carb in my '70 Chevelle. He also installed a manual choke. It runs great but I'm having problems starting it in the morning. Any tips? The starter is practically brand new.

Give it a couple pumps, close the choke, spin it over. If it fires, slowly turn the choke off. It will take you a while to figure out how much fuel it wants. It will take a while to figure out how much choke to shut off when it starts. The choke will work like a fast idle when it starts cold. Good luck.

Thank you for the advice!
One quick question, albeit a stupid one maybe. 'Spin it over' = crank to start?
Thank you for the advice!!!! -Sam |

Hey Sam...No such thing as a stupid question. We all started somewhere. Hank is correct, when I say "spin it over", I mean see if it will start.

Thanks again!!1
