My class reunion is tonight..

So it has been a few years since I went to one of these things. I have been talking to the girls that have put the class reunion together and they are so excited. I really liked my High School years, but over the years I don't have the huge urge, like they do, to get together all the time. Yeah, sure, once a month I get together with a few of my friends for lunch. But this is a lot of the people that I didn't hang around with, or made fun of me (I was a band geek and into old cars). I have talked grumpy into going with me, just not sure how he is going to fit in with the crowd and the 80's music is going to drive him nuts. We are not drinkers, even though the price of the tickets included an open bar, and I think that they are having a "walking dinner", what ever that is. I just hope that we have a good time.

Does anyone have any reunion nightmares they want to share ? Hopefully I won't.

Our high school class has not had a reunion since I graduated. Have a good time.

LOL,have a good time Nancy! Since Maureen and I were high school sweethearts,we have gone to every reunion. That seems to make it easier for some reason.

I never have nor ever will attend any reunion from my old school ,I hated high school .Once I graduated I never looked back ,all I wanted was to get out of that place.

Well it was actually a pretty good time. We didn't get there til about 9pm and when we got up to the door inside the hall the table was empty. We had to get someone from the hall to get us a member of the planning committee to get us my name tag and wrist bands.

Once inside I was immediately approached by a few friends from High School. We had some good food and spent some time with some old friends. I have to say it was pretty cool, there was a photo booth where I got some pics with friends and with grumpy, they also had a candy bar where there were all sorts of candy from my youth. We grabbed a couple bags of candy for the kids and said our good-byes. I know that I will be seeing some of these people again soon.

I have a very active HS alumni association...I get a monthly news letter via email.
I've attended various events over the years including reunions (been 42 yrs :( ).
In fact, there is a class of '70 picnic being held next Saturday but I'm unable to attend...got a wedding to go to here in Atlanta.

Only 162 kids in my graduating class (private school) and to this day I remain in contact with a few lifelong buddies. We've lost a few too...:(

I had no interest, never been to one. I think they had a 5 & 10 year so far. This would be a 15 year reunion for me. and a 10 year reunion for college. My life is way too hectic and busy to worry about who died, who got fat and bald, and who got married, etc. I have very few true friends in this world. But, I am OK with that - makes my life simpler and keeps it drama free.

Glad you had a good time, maybe 10 years from now I'll consider it. ::shrug::

I will say that one of the most interesting things that I did find out is how much people actually read what is posted on FB. I was approached by a couple guys who remembered me and asked about my Malibu. It was kinda cool.

Another thing that I did notice is that the possibilities for networking was huge at the reunion. I saw friends that were pretty high up at Ford and GM, another guy who was big at John Deere, someone who worked for a car part distributor in Nevada and many other people who have connections. So for me it was seeing old friends and considering new connections.

So glad you had a great time. I went to a couple reunions, but it was like reliving the school years all over again. Same clicky groups hanging out together. I don't talk to any of the people I went to school with, so I don't see a need to pay a bunch of money to spend time with them. 2011 would have been our 30th.
