Spooky, but cool!
So, everyone knows I'm building a clone to my first hotrod. A two door hard top '64 Chevelle, non A/C car. It was hard enough to find one I could afford that wasn't too far gone with rust. I found a gold colored one for a good price and had it delivered.
Both the old car and the new car left the factory the same dark green metallic. Both had the same color interior. (albeit one was SS interior with bucket seats) For some reason, I had kept a key to my first car laying around. I never got any keys for my new car. Just for grins today I tried the original key in my new car. .....and it works! |
Sounds like it was meant to be just like your first one.

Wish that would work on a 73 Z/28 I got the keys and window sticker for.Very cool!

Sounds like a worn out ignition switch, but cool.

That is kinda scary, but cool. Did you try the key anywhere else besides the ignition ?
|
It's not a worn switch. I thought of that. I have the key to my '61 Bel Air. That key didn't work at all.
I tried the doors, it doesn't work in them and the trunk is a different key. I know at some point the dash was changed to an A/C dash, so I guess they put the ignition switch in from the A/C car. I still think it's cool, though. |
