Hello everyone! You got yourselves a new member to this great car forum. Hope I can be apart of the excitement, learn from some of you, and help others. I purchased my first chevelle, a 66, about 4 months ago. I say first, because I plan one day down the line to get a 70 as well. So the 66 is just a really good and complete shell with minimal to no rust. Purchased like that because I wanted to do a complete build my way with no one else's touches. I'll upload a photo or two..

Thanks Flash. As far as the power plant, I will to put a naturally inspired 572 paired with a 6 speed. This combo should give me about 750hp and 730-750 ft lbs tq while having the manners of a daily driver and getting decent mpg. Want to put complete air ride suspension with big disc brakes, will have to reinforce the frame, of course will need a strong rear end, and cooling. And while I will do a custom interior, it will be simple with the classic car feel. Me personally, I am not a fan of modern interiors in classic cars, I think they look nice, but just not my style. And can't forget my sound, I love music, so will put a very good sound system.

If you have some good ideas for a reasonably priced sound system I would love to know about them as I need to replace my system this winter .We have gone all summer with no tunes in our vert and that really sux on long trips .Ps: If you like southern bluesy rock go to silvertravis.com and try out some of our friends music ,we think they are great .

What type of music you listen to most? And do you like subs?

I love my cars to sound like rolling symphony's as I call it! lol Normally on a scale to 1 to 10, I would have a nice sub pushing out on lets say a level 6-7, and the mids and highs at 10. That way the music is clear and crisp.

The subs I have used in the passed and love them, are the kick L7 and w7 from JL, both of those are very heavy hitters, the L7 is the cheaper of the two ( maybe almost half the price) while being very competitive in sound quality to the w7. I have also used audiobahn flame series, and those sound great and are considerable cheap for the quality.

Depending on your space for inside speakers, which in these classics places to put speakers are minimal, unless you went the custom interior route, I would go with coaxial sets because they have the mid bass and tweeter in one. JL has very good ones, but they are a little on the expensive side. Polk Audio I think is your best bet, they are hands down the best bang for your buck. I believe the db series. Believe a set will run you about $100 or less and they really have good sound quality for the price.
