Firewall question
 

Under the glove compartment, where the carpet stops as it comes up under the dash, I noticed it seems to stop short, then all I see is jute. It seems to me I am missing a kick plate that covers the transition from carpet to insulation? I've searched for them on resto sites and can't seem to find it. Question is, what do they call this plastic piece? and anyone know of a place to find one other than a bone yard?

There is no toe kick plate on the passenger side.

that sucks. reason I thought was the driver side has that plastic plate.

I guess when someone installed the new carpet they cut it WAY short. Looks like crap. How far should the carpet run up that firewall?

Mine goes up under the heater box I think ,would have to look to be sure .

Flash- let me know when you check it out next time your in the car. it would certainly seem like it should tuck up under there. I have no idea why someone would cut off the top 12". I certainly don't want to replace all the carpet.

As flash said, no toe plate on passenger side. I installed my carpet and ran it up as far as I could on the passenger side.

My carpet goes up to my heater box also.

ok- guess I'll have to figure out a way to fix that unsightly look.
