1972 Malibu that I inherited from my father. It was a $2500 rustbucket about 15 years ago. It is even more pretty in person. :D |

Granny's Malibu The "before" pic...I'm the second & fourth owner of this Malibu. I bought this original 44K mile car from a 83 year old woman that only drove it to the beer store on Friday nights. :D I made the mistake of selling this Sedan a few years ago but bought it back last year. As a reward for it's return to GA (it's birthplace), I've since totally updated the drive train. Most recent pic is in my sig... |

I bought the car in 1997, from an ad in the Columbus Dispatch. I had looked at the car in the fall of 1996, but it was the first one I looked at, and decided to keep looking. I looked at a bunch of other cars, but kept thinking about this one. My girlfriend kept telling me to call, saying he probably still had it. Finally I called, 6 months after I first looked at it, and drove it home at the end of February, 1997, with the top down. I took it off hte road in 2006 when I realized it was unsafe to drive due to rust. I've been working on it ever since and to date have replaced about 60% of the original sheet metal. I hope to have it back up in a couple of years. I need to because my wife is tapping her foot and looking at the Healey sitting in the driveway :) |
