brake master cylinder question
looking to get a new one for my chevelle because i wanted to order something new since all of my brake system is pretty much new so i figure get a new master cylinder and brake booster (since i don't have a brake booster) do i need a 1 inch bore or a 1.25 bore?
I have disc brakes in the front and drum in the rear this is the one i was looking at http://www.summitracing.com/parts/tf...model/chevelle http://www.summitracing.com/parts/tf...model/chevelle |
A 1" bore master will work fine.
I highly suggest painting the master cylinder with Cast Blast before installing. If not, it will be rusty within a year. |
thank you sir!

is this one better or the one i put up first better?

I just bought and installed the ground up correct Delco booster and master cylinder and I can tell you it really makes a difference. Much better than going with chrome or black.
Money well spent http://www.ss396.com/mm5/merchant.mv...t_Code=BMK-9RD |
Actually, both the booster and master cylinder could be bought locally @ your fav auto parts store...for a lot less $$ ;)
And I wouldn't compromise buying a 9" booster...unless you're running a BBC with tall valve covers... a 11" booster will fit and work more better. ;) |
actually the one buy me for the 11 inch is 133 plus 33 for a core and i don't have a core so 166 for the set. summit is 113 ;) aka cheaper so summit wins :)

Oops I put the wrong link up. This is the correct one I Have http://www.ss396.com/mm5/merchant.mv..._Code=BMK-11RD
I bought one last year at my local autoparts store and it was the correct style but it was black and started to corrode after the winter. This is my 3rd and defanitly last in my car. |
Thanks I ordered the on that was 10 bucks less..lol
