Funny day at the doctor's office

If you really want to liven up your day, go to the doctor's office on the same day the group home for mental illness has all their appointments.

Wow!, about covers it. A guy walks up to me and tries his best to be social. I'm all for that, so we talk for a while. (A really, REALLY, LONG while) He asks my life story and he tells me his. I mention I was in the Army and now he's all interested. He asks me if they taught me karate and kung fu while I was in. I tell him no, but we did learn how to fight. So then he asks me if I know about pressure points. I said, "Yes." Then he asks me if I know about the one on the shoulder. (motions to his shoulder like the Vulcan neck pitch.) I tell him no, but I know how to tear your arm out of your socket with the least amount of force possible.

We talk a little bit more and he tells me he was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. ....maybe I shouldn't have told him I could tear his arm off. :o

The few hours we were there I saw things that made me chuckle, gasp and drop my jaw. It was definitely entertaining.

No you weren't. We missed the bus.

But I would love to hear more stories about the doctor's office too.

There was so much to see there, I can't really isolate one or two stories. :D

(For the record, I took my daughter to the OB/GYN)

The guy that I was talking to was deaf, so I had to speak very loudly to him, which I'm sure made everyone feel at ease. Then there was this blind chick in her teens that was, I'm sure, feeling no pain and not terribly concerned about ANYTHING. She had this 400 pound chick in a similar state of mind, but able to see, lead her over to the coffee stand and about half way there the blind chick just broke out in laughter and almost fell over. She wasn't saying anything and she didn't trip. She just felt the need to let some laughter out, I guess kinda like a pressure relief valve.

The talkative paranoid schizophrenic was hitting on a girl named Jennifer trying to leave the office. (poor Jennifer)

Then there was the ward staff that was carrying on the conversation with the guy in the Army ball cap that couldn't speak very well. She seemed to understand him, but it was just incoherent noises to my ears.

There was more, but I just can't think of it right now. If John was there, he goes a LONG way to see the doctor!

I have no problem going to the doctor any more since mine is a blonde. My wife suggested I go to this doctor, so when I got home I told her she failed to tell me she was good looking. I think I about due to go back soon.v:ntwrthy::ntwrthy:
