Had my 1st ER visit of the year yesterday

I was keeping my fingers crossed that I wouldn't be making an ER visit for a while. Yeah, right.

One of the newest things for kids to do is to go to the indoor trampoline parks. It is a huge area with wall to wall trampolines, you can play dodgeball on trampolines, you can play basketball, or you can jump into a foam pit. The kids love it, actually a couple of weeks ago I had a birthday party for Lauren there and it was a blast. Well yesterday I decided to take the kids. It is fun and great exercise.

We were not even there for 10 minutes and Lauren (my 15 yr old) was laying on a trampoline saying she couldn't get up. Lauren is a big girl and it was almost comical watching us help her to the steps and down the steps. She was not able to put any weight on her leg so I knew I needed to take her to the ER. After 5 hours and a set of x-rays (which showed nothing broken) we were sent home with a leg brace and crutches. Here is where the mean mom in me comes out. I have a full size Astro Van and when it was time for Lauren to get into the van, I couldn't stop laughing. I felt so bad for her but it was so funny watching her try to get into the van. The security guards were trying to help and they were doing there best to hold it together, but at one point we all just burst out laughing, Lauren included. We explained to her that her facial expressions and her sound effects were making it hard for us not to laugh. We got her into the van and went home. It took her 10 minutes to get into the house cause she was having trouble trying to figure out the crutches.

Luckily today we had no school because of the ice. I don't look forward to tomorrow, she is going to have a hard time because her classes are all over the high school. Keeping my fingers crossed that she doesn't end up on her ass trying to get down the hallway.

I wasn't going to post after reading about Shaun's last few days. I don't think anything else could happen to that poor man.

Years ago I had a Honda Civic that I used to deliver pizza. It was a stick shift and all the guys used to give me a hard time cause I got such awesome gas mileage. It was a blast to drive, but wasn't beautiful. I ended up selling it to a high school kid who was local. The kids mom came by and thanked me for selling him a car with awesome gas mileage and teaching him how to drive a stick shift.

Lauren still is in a lot of pain and I am hoping that tomorrow we will get some answers. She has an appointment with the orthopedic doctor at 2pm. Keeping my fingers crossed.
