Oh, I found an action shot. I submitted this to Car Craft a couple years ago and they actually put it in the Burnout section.

I like the color and your dog, cool!

jnorton 01-14-2010 08:21 AM

Thanks, Gary. The color will change. I'm just not that into a triple green machine. I'm probably going with a color combo that Chevy used on the Corvette Z06 a couple years back. Metallic blue with silver stripes. I haven't seen that on the Chevelle yet and I think it might be pretty cool. The Z06 had red outline on the stripes but I'm not doing that.

The dog will stay golden. He's about 4 1/2 and the best dog I've ever had. I've seen your troop of miniture Collies. 6 of them, I think? 2 kids and a dog are plenty for me, thank you.

Oh man, I'm bummed!! I was hoping to see that you were keeping the green. I like green, especially with white stripes, and no vinyl.

jnorton 01-14-2010 08:37 AM

Well, there will definitely be NO VINYL. I remember my dad having me Armor All the roof of his Torino when I was a kid. I would never wish that on anyone.

Burn out?!?! Son, now this is a burn out! :) Just kidding!

Sorry about the pic quality. This was taken back about 1984 back in my youthful days.

Nice. My burnout wasn't too impressive. I was roasting those BFGs to high heaven, but the pavement didn't help make any smoke. That was a dry burnout. I didn't think to bring anything to lay down before I ripped it.

I got a more current pic today while I had a minute.

Looks like you are well under way on your project.
