Heater core gave up on me.

I'm new to the board and own a '71 Chevelle SS 454.
I've owned this car for 20 years and it's very well kept and the pride of our small fleet of rods and other specialty cars.
The heater core finally died on me last fall and it's getting near time to change it.
The Chevelle is a factory big block, automatic and factory installed air conditioning.
My question is ........... With A/C, does the heater core come out from underneath the dashboard, or do you pull the heater core off the firewall under the hood and rt. fender area?
My shop manual was useless and other Chevelle owners I know all own small blocks with no air.

I changed mine on my 69 and it came out from the inside, take pics of the cable and clips as that is where I had issues replacing it but thanks that someone had pics to send me to show me the proper way to install.

Did you need to remove the glove box?
Did the dash need to be pulled out also?

This is the first time in 20 years that I wish the car didn't have air conditioning.

The last one I did required dropping the right inner fender to get to all the bolts. It a long day job. Not that easy of a project. Here a post on the subject.

I did have to pull glove box, but remember 69's dash's are a lot different than yours.
