parking brake pedal install
does anyone have any tips on how to install the cable in correctly? Do i have to go under the car and loosen the cable install it on the pedal and then tighten it back up? i got the pedal in the mail and i want to install it to test it to make sure my parking brakes work correctly

Yes, you will have to at least loosen it up if not totally disconnect it from underneath. Have the pedal in the released position pull up on the cable and hook it into the pedal.

yeah i thought so. I guess i can know that out real quick when i get home then...lol

I removed my parking brake pedal to R&R the kick panel. I didn't loosen or disconnect anything underneath the car and the parking brake does work.

I got it installed but i need to do some adjustments because it doesnt lock in yet.

When I got my car the emergency brake wasn't working, after some investigation I found that the cable on the drivers side wasn't hooked up to the arm in that drum. After I got it hooked up I noticed the pedal was not returning all the way when released. I had to take up on the adjuster to get it to return correctly.

yeah i think its the adjuster because its attached everywhere so i hope. But it also makes me want to replace mine with Disc instead of drum! i hate drums

this is the first car that i ever had drums. all of my cars all had 4 wheel disc. I dont know much about them. and now i have to take the wheel off and figure out why i have no parking brakes

You may have the same thing I did not hooked up to the arm in the drum. Do you have the 3 cable guides in place also. One big one comes off the transmission crossmember and there are 2 smaller ones that are hooked into the floor brace one on each side.
