Loan-a-tool program.
 

I was out in the garage and noticed Ric's Pop rivet tool, which I've had for over a month. That reminded me that I've had Ray's pneumatic finish nailer for 3 or 4 months. Which reminded me he's had my sawzall and pneumatic stapler for about the same length of time. That got me thinking about my cordless angle driver my neighbor has. Which reminded me that my other neighbor never returned my welding clamp he borrowed back in the spring.

I need to make a list of who owns this stuff I got and where my stuff is before I borrow or lend anything else.

Thats probably a good idea.
God forbid anything should ever happen to you.
It would be a cluster**** geting all the tools in the right hands.
I have a book with all my gun values and serial numbers
for just the same reason.

I loose more tools that way. I loan them out and forget who borrowed them. I have a few I have borrow to work on the beach house that I need to return.

When you loan a tool out take a picture of the person holding the tool. Tell them you will delete the photo when they return it. You'll remember who had what then.

This is where having them covered on my homeowners insurance comes in handy. Every year I get a listing of what guns are covered and for what value. The problem is when I sell one and purchase one. Sending in pics and serial numbers can be a pain in the butt.

When I started reading this thread I actually thought of other things that have been lent out to people. I have a very nice stud finder that I bought about 5 years ago. I know who I lent it to, they just can't remember who they lent it to. Really ????

Then I got a call from my mom, she is going to have Thanksgiving at her house this year, she hasn't cooked in over 15 years. So she asks me if I have her roasting pan. I had to laugh, I have no idea where her roasting pan is, we think my brother was the last one to use it, and since then he has moved and if he does have it, it is still probably packed away in a box. So guess what I did, I lent my mom, my roasting pan. It is just a never ending cycle when it comes to lending things to others... lol

Yes it is. I'm not worried about the things I've lent, well maybe the welding clamp, probably never see that again. Ed, my neighbor is 73, you can't even walk into is 2 car garage it's so packed with stuff. If it's in there you'll never find it. No big deal, he's a good neighbor and I like him. The other stuff will come home and I know who owns the stuff I have. I haven't forgotten about them, just haven't see the owners in awhile.

It was just funny how much stuff I have that belongs to other people and how much of my stuff has been lent out.

Oh yeah I forgot about the rivet tool as I've only used it once in 10 years. I forgot who I loaned my pickle fork to and unable to get the steering gear off the Chevelle so I can get it rebuild...I guess I'll have to buy another set.

I have a set Ric. No need to buy them, another one of those tools you only use once every 10 years. Give me a call.
