Some airlines

My daughter was flying in last night from Florida to a city north of us to transfer to make it to Portland. They bumped here at the last minute and made her wait 7 hours before she was able catch a plane home this morning. She is 5 months pregnant and had to sit in a airport from Midnight till 7am. Had I known about it I would have gone and got her since was only an hour away from her at the time. I'm just a little mad.

What airline Ray? I'd like to know...

They would not accomidate a pregnant woman ??? That is aweful !!! She needs to write a formal complaint.

I'm guessing "Delta"

I'm not going to say at this point until I have a chance to look into it more. but it was not Delta.

I'm guessing there is more to this.
Not normal to be "bumped" if the person already had an assigned seat/boarding card. Was she real late getting to the gate? Most flights close out 15 min before departure and no-show seats are given to any standbys.

I was returning from the Philippines with my wife and year old son. They expected me to leave my son there and wire money to have him come at a later time. Ticket type issue. I am not on my home island. Out of money from being there 6 months. And our plane is leaving. Guy says you have to. Moved toward my wife and intended to physically take my child.
I am not the Baddest in the jungle but I lift and I am six one. Well I stood up and went Gorilla. I explained the facts to them in no uncertain terms. They held the flight up for an hour untill they could find the airline owner. In the end after alot of loud words and a Mexican standoff they decided we could just go.
Airlines got some goofy rules especially traveling out of the country. A child needs a paper ticket and not a computer issued one. Really what is the difference. We came from the small island to the big island on one. Now it is a issue? Why wasn't it when we could just go back to the house and straighten it out.

She had an assign seat and so did someone else. According to the announcement the plane had been over booked. That has happen to me me a few times and the airlines will ask if you want to give up your seat for a free ticket. Since she was flying on a discounted ticket from a friend who works for the airline and got here a deal on the ticket, she was the one bumped. It was not a stand by ticket. It was because she was not a full paying passanger is what I found out.
