I HATE cell phones...

Heading to the Apple Store tomorrow for an 11:30am appointment to have the screen replaced on my wife's iPhone 6 Plus.
That will cost $129 plus sales tax...while I wait.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind it so much...accidents can & do happen.
BUT, this is the 2nd screen replacement in three weeks.
I AM going to bungee cord this phone to her bra.

Phone insurance...a total joke.
Before the 1st accident, this phone did have insurance on it. The only phone that did so in our 4 mobile phone plan.
Insurance (thru Verizon) cost $11.95 per month.
However...here's the good part...any repairs have a $150 out of pocket deductible per repair.
Say what???

Canceled that insurance three weeks ago....

Rant off!!

I leave mine at home as much possible. Do not like being tied to a cell phone.

I'm not a big fan of cell phones, how did we ever live without them? That said, I do carry one but not a "smart" phone. Just replaced my flip phone with another flip phone from Sprint. Hard to find something besides a smart phone now days and it seems the phones are getting bigger and bigger. Used to be they started big and people wanted smaller so the companies obliged. Now it's almost like packing a small laptop today. I just want a phone I can talk on and if I have to I can text, not surf the net, will do that at home.

We still have our very first cell phone...a Motorola bag phone...probably 20 years old.

At least. I had one back in the 80's. The one I had seem to have better better range then the ones do today. You could not put them in your pocket back then. Some of the older phones are selling for $1300 on eBay, they are making a come back. People want simple. Can't blame them.

Very similar model to the one we used Ray.
Probably worked better because hardly anyone was using the system back then and even then it was only for talking.
I wouldn't think those old phones could be used on today's mobile network...much like old TVs cannot receive local channels anymore.
Unless the phones can be retro fitted...

I have my phone with me all the time. Unfortunately there are reasons that I should carry it with me all the time. And sometimes I really hate it. But it has come in handy many times. But I do hate that we have become a society that has become so tech needy.

I have a smart phone, but it's a few years old and not one the size of a tablet. Got a smart phone so I can use it as a mobile hotspot while traveling, like right now. I use my laptop if want to get on the internet or check email. Phone just lets me do that when I'm not home.
