What's it worth?
I ran across this car the other day and I can pick it up for less than $2500. Guy said it was an SS bench seat car. Doesn't have the build sheet for it but he hasn't looked for it either. It doesn't have a motor or trans. I have a spare motor and transmission I can put together and throw in it. The reason I want it, is so I can use it for a daily and not have to worry about tearing it up or if it get bumps and dings in it. I haven't looked at the car in person so I don't know the full condition of the car but is it worth my time to go look at it?

What's the 5th character (a letter) on the VIN??
Fifth Character: Engine size/type D - 250cid L-6 1-bbl (L22) F - 307cid V8 2-bbl (L14) H - 350cid V8 2-bbl (L65) J - 350cid V8 4-bbl (L48) U - 402cid V8 4-bbl (LS3) W - 454cid V8 4-bbl (LS5) Got a 12 bolt? |
Don't have the vin right off hand and I'm not sure about the rear end either. I'm going to go look at it here in a little bit so I'll have better more detailed pictures.

Seems cheap if it's not rotted out and full of bondo.

I would be all over that .

It is easily worth $2500 around here.

Has Malibu front fenders. What kind of dash does it have?
|
I went and looked it over pretty hard yesterday. The body tag has been changed, it has sweep gauges, 10 bolt, and drum brakes all the way around. It definitely has some issues! Not worth my time messing with. It needs about the same amount of work my 70 needed when I started on it. Trunk pan was rotted out needed both fenders and quarters. The pictures I was given was from when the guy bought the car. He didn't really know a lot about the those cars and I think someone took advantage of that when they sold him the 72 (as pictured) and the 70 (not pictured as a parts car). It did have a brand new aftermarket (non-functional) cowl hood, so I traded him my flat hood and little boot for his hood. I wouldn't have paid much more than $1000 it. I was really just looking for something I could throw a motor in and daily drive it.
