Opinions on Fitech or Holley EFI for my Chevelle...…

I'd like to get rid of the carburetor and convert my '71 big-block Chevelle to EFI using either the FiTech "GO EFI 8" or the new soon-to-be-released Holley "Sniper". Both these systems have 8 injectors and are good for up to 1,200 hp.
Let me know what you guys think,
Thanks,

Claude. Bowtie smiley

I love it. I eventually want a holley unit like that for mine. I am not a computer in cars fan. But fuel metering is the one thing a computer can do better.

I cant afford to do it but would love to have that in my truck and Chevelle .

I would go with the Holley set up over the MSD. The FiTech looks promising as well. Might be installing one on a friend's 65' Vette this fall.

It turns out that the MSD system cannot handle anything bigger than 600hp. so no good for me since my engine already made 698 hp on the dyno. I thought that I'd be good with the FiTech "Meanstreet" EFI (good for up to 800hp) but it has no timing control… That leaves me with TWO choices: either the Fitech Go EFI 8 or the new Holley Sniper (both are good for up to 1,200 h.p. and can control timing).
One thing I'd like to see is a comparison between these two's hand-held controllers…

I have the MSD with the FAST EFI system. I have had it for over 3 years. I know that they have improved the systems more since I had mine installed and you are looking for a system to handle your big block.

I would definately call and find out as much info as you can about installation. When mine was installed it took a little longer than anticipated but not bad.

I do like being able to pull out the control box and plug it in to see if there is any problems or make adjustments. Just be prepared to either have the cord and box take up room in your glove box or, like I do, tuck the cord up under the dash and store the box in the glove box. Then I just can plug it in. I would also keep the instructions handy. Good luck.
