Is this a good deal?
 

I went online to order an ink cartridge from Dell. $22 and change with tax. I can pay the full $22 now or make payments of $2 a month for 48 months, $96 total. What do you guy's think?


Seriously, I can't imagine they even offer an option like that. Use up the cartridge in a few months and continue paying for it for another 3+ years. Would someone actually go for that deal?

What's the ZDDP level on the ink for those, I have a flat tappet print head? Don't want to wipe another one and have to do a tear down and rebuild again. Probably should install a roller roller print head but the retro-fit kits are pretty pricey. Plus I'm trying to stay as stock as possible, my printer is all numbers match. You can't imagine what a date coded print head goes for these days. Check it out on Ebay if you don't believe me.

Thats crazy. I use generics when possible but they don't always print as nice as the HP brand.

Most of the generics just stole R&D from HP, and started making their own castings. They don't flow well, they have no meat for surfacing or portingfor hi-po printing, and the tolerances are lackluster at best. I've seen many a knock-off cartridges that barely line up with the holes in the printer block, and crack as soon as you launch one at 5000 pages/minute.


For real though, some idiot bought one of those $2 today cartridges and thinks he's getting over on someone.

Generic? At $22 I wouldn't even consider a generic, that's with free shipping and it's a high output cartridge, not a standard one. Dell also provides free shipping to return the old cartridge so it can be recycled. Dell is very big into recycling.

That plus it's a company provided printer and they're paying for the cartridge, 'home office' expense. :)

Hank, you might want to look into Office Max and Office Depot. They both sell cartridges for your printer that once empty, you take back for a refill for $10. Not a bad deal, especially after I spent $60 on ONE cartridge for my HP printer at Sam's Club last time. It was an extended fill one, supposed to last twice as long as the regular. Does that mean they just fill the regular one halfway? :rolleyes:

Sometimes I try to get the name brand carts for my printer at places like costco. Bulk packs save a pretty good buck.
