I plan on doing the same thing - saw an Elky ('65) at a show that had done that and it looked GREAT!
Ya 64 dash is flat while 65 vss back toward the driver.I see used 64 dashes at swap meets all the time and there perfect for this kind of thing.I did a simular mod to a 65 years ago and was way more work involved.Forgot 64 was flat. One other thing thats different is the steel dash unit. The 65 has a body line on both sides and I think in the spot where devides the glove box hole and plastic insert hole that holds the guage cluster. Its right where the dash pad comes down and ends on both sides. 64 is smooth.Im no computer guy but Im tryin to figure out a way to copy my templat to my computer so other people can download it if they want.My plan is to polish and clearcoat my new piece.Paint the old dash part mat black and I found this silver-chrome 1/4 in tape at hoby shop to go around the outer most edge to simulate the way it looked originaly. And Hank thanks for the offer.Ill be ordering my guages as soon as I finish a side job and have the extra money.
