Mike,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I guess my problem seems minimal compared to yours. I have been through a lot with my kids, I guess that is what happens when you have 6 children. I wouldn't give up a moment of it, cause that is what life is all about, and I wouldn't be who I am without them.
Let us know how everything goes with the surgery.
