Yep the cost of wire is currently outragous and anything to keep the wiring project economical seems the right approach. Every burg is different but current (NEC) codes, as a rule, require alot of electrical upgrades that you dont find out about until your local building inspector makes his visit.Things like anti-Arc, tamper-resistant and GFI Reptables in places the would have never been considered before. Wiring sizes and loads that have been "improved" and on and on.

I mention this as a heads-up because the "re-do" the inspector might require kills the budget, but every town is different .
