I've had a DeVilbiss 5hp, 20 gallon compressor for close to 20 years now. It's done a good job but it will run a lot when using some tools, like a grinder or cutoff wheel, they take a lot of air. Impact wrench, chisel or nailers aren't problem since they don't use quite as much air flow. I can't complain but I would go bigger if I was buying one today. Can't say much about brands but I believe HD and Lowes both carry good quality compressors.
