Welcome to the site! Very cool! But 3,300 rpm's isn't very high at all. I shifted my Olds Cutlass at 6,200 rpm and my friend shifted his 468 big block at 7,200 rpm's.
Regardless, it sounds like you have a fun car, and there's nothing wrong with a '68! It happens to be one of my favorite years. Can we see some pictures?
