I don't think it is that people are "tight" with their schematics. Some of it is that a lot of the people with the information are not as computer literate as others. And sometimes it is easier to make a copy from a hard copy.
If there is something in particular that you are looking for, just ask. Or maybe some of the info in "Restoration by the numbers" forum might help. Here are a few links:

Ironically, I have not found all the info on the 1972. And that is the year that I own.
