First time to the track (1/8th) with new 496
Finally got the car down the track for the first time with the new motor.
Broke a couple alternator belts today and the distribution block came disconnected from the battery but those were the only casualties of the day so I won't complain!
Drove the car about 50+ miles to the track on my MT ET streets, down the interstate at 80 mph, with the A/C blasting the entire way.
Today's DA was approx 2429.
First time down the track
12:52pm
RT - .620
60ft - 1.739
330 - 4.927
1/8th - 7.604 - 97.61 mph
Shook out the cobwebs, replaced a flipped alternator belt and went back out. (Best run of 3)
1:13pm
RT - .689
60 - 1.703
330 - 4.758
1/8th - 7.358 - 99.00 mph
Final run of the day was no better but seemed pretty consistent. Temps were getting rather warm
1:45pm
RT - .698
60- 1.704
330 - 4.776
1/8th - 7.368 - 98.90 mph
Car seemed to hook but was just not getting out of the hole hard or fast enough to get the 60' down. Could be just how I was leaving on the converter (leaving off idle), or not getting off the brake fast enough. Just need more practice!
Left the QA1 D/A front shocks full loose on rebound - tight on compression.
Rear AFCO's were set the same, loose rebound - tight compression.
Tires had 17 lbs.
Need to sort out an alternator belt that won't stay right side up but all seems good to go for next week at CB12 & Music City Raceway!
I have some Go-Pro video I'll load up once I edit out all the unnecessary recorded footage.
I would say I met my goals as all the calculators I found online seem to indicate this thing will go fast enough in the 1/4 to get my hand slapped by tech without having a roll-bar, which was pretty much what I was looking for.
