Woodward Dream Cruise August 18, 2012
For many weeks car enthusiasts have taken over Woodward Avenue showing off their beautiful cars. Places like the Shell station just south of Normandy have been packed with classic cars. Some of us that live local to Woodward, say that the weeks that preceed the Dream Cruise are the best if you want to see some classic cars. The reason being that you can just pull your car over, park it, pull out your lawn chairs and sit and see some of the most amazing cars that the auto industry ever put out. The creativity of the builders that have restored these cars is just unbelievable. And the best part...it doesn't cost you to park your classic prior to the actual event.
Well today was the official Woodward Dream Cruise. And yes I was one of thousands who paid for a parking spot on Woodward for my classic car. Many people take a chance that they will find an awesome spot at no charge, and many do. But for me, I have kids and I want to make sure that I have a spot for sure, in an area I would like to be in.
I took over 600 photos today, and in the next week I will have many of them in a photo album for you to see.
I will say that I did enjoy my 13 hours sitting out there watching all the wonderful cars, oh, did I mention I got a free digital tire gauge with a flashlight as one of the give away gifts today. lol One thing that we did notice is that there were far more newer cars on the road than in years past, and that there were a lot more restored Trucks. You will see many of them as I post the pictures.
For everyone who was out there today, I hope you had a safe and fun WWDC.
