I wish that we, grumpy and I, could have really had a heart to heart with Chuck. We tried to help him with using the internet, suggesting our webmaster who has worked with some of the largest automotive companies in building successful websites. But there never was time, actually after being at the last Chevellabration I, like many of us, thought that Chuck had found his successor.
As many of us know, Social Media has become a huge part of our culture today. We surf the web to find car parts, answers to questions and like me, local and national car shows. And, if you think of the owners of many of the classic and collector cars out there, they tend to be older men and woman. I can't tell you the amount of car shows that I have gone to and tried to build membership to this site, and I talk to the car owners and many of them don't know how to, or are not comfortable, surfing the web. They may have an e-mail account but that is the extent of their internet experience.
I am sad to hear that Chevellabration has ended because I had just found it 3 years ago. I am one of the lucky ones because I can say that I have been to 2 of them. I hope that another car club or website will start another show to continue on such a great tradition.
