While I'm not an expert, It doesn't look too much like a clone to me. Custom job.

Rear stripes too narrow. Cowl hood is way high. Does it actually function, or just for looks?

No console? Shouldn't the dash have three large rounds, Tach, Speedo and clock? No side emblems, no rear emblems, no trunk emblem (holes for Chevelle emblem look to be filled even) and no cowl emblem. To be honest, the whole fit on that hood looks off to me.

Wheels look ok, but not original for a '70. Definitely aftermarket aluminum and look more like the wheels for a '71 or '72 SS. Not saying they are bad or even bad looking, just not '70 SS looking. I plan on going to same way with mine, but actually going for some that look a lot closer to '70 SS rims.

Matching numbers motor for a '66 vette? Ok, then it would be a numbers matching car if the vin/motor code matched that car, otherwise, I'm not for sure what he means by numbers matching. Sounds like a nice motor, but, was the 427 even offered in the '70 SS's? 4L80E definitely wasn't.

Hotchkis suspension? OK, what part? What performance level? Touring or drag suspension? I'm guessing touring because of the 17 inch wheels, but that is just a guess. I also cannot tell if it was lowered any. The rear does look a bit down, so maybe.

He may have 30K into it, I cannot say. But the condition and things I noted, that is a 10K, 15K if your lucky, around OK or TX and definitely not a clone in my opinion. But that is just my opinion, if you really like the car, it may be worth what he is asking to you.

Take a look around the web, you may find a deal that is right for you. As you look, you will also see what we mentioned and get a better feel for what you are looking at. Decide if custom is good for you or do you want true original looks and feel. Personally, I don't mind some custom. Heck, I'm planning on putting a TPI style fuel injection in mine.
