The bolts in the A pillar don't move a bunch. The ones in the door are the ones you adjust. For want of a better metaphor, think of a refrigerator door. If you move the upper hinge out, away from the car, the back of the door will come up as it closes. A little goes a long way here. 1/16" at the hinge could move the door up 1/8"-3/16" at the latch. You'll also be moving other metal around to cover up the fact that you moved the door around. Get the door to fit and close properly, then move the fenders and hood around to line up to the doors.
