IIRC, Hotchkis offers a big block AND a small block spring kit for a Chevelle. Which kit number did you use?
Those springs will settle some...but probably not enough for your liking.
Measure from the top of the wheel well opening to the pavement...both front and back...and post what you've measured.
I've used the Hotchkis and Eibach sping kits before...and prefer the Eibach Pro kits.
