My water meter sits out in a metal box on the front corner of my property...less than 12" down. The water supply line I just had replaced 2 yrs ago is probably 8-10" down. All the houses around here are on a slab.
Got double glass thermo windows in the house, about 3 1/2" of insulation in walls, about 8" in attic. All that mainly for the summer A/C cooling.
Most of the ceilings on 1st floor are 18' high.
