Cool My mind is made up!

After much thought and debate in my mind,I have decided I'm going to take my car to the next level.I'm thinking it's probably85% there as all the hard stuff is done. The things that need to be corrected are the little tedious things, nuts and bolts getting some correct parts under the hood, etc. The hardest thing will be to give up my 15" wheels an tires,as the stance looks awesome and I get so many compliments and requests for the sizes. The only major engine pieces needed will be a correct intake and quadrajet. My only fear is that I will get impatient and rush things, which is the main reason I bought one ready to go. The nice thing is that I will have a tech available to come to the house and a body man as well,if needed. I have become friends with one of the most knowledgeable 70 guys on TC,and he only lives 10 miles away from me. To make my life easier,I will be Maureens slave for the next 6 weeks,as she wants many things done around the inside of the house includung painting.November 1st is my start target, and you guys better be ready for a lot of stupid questions as I think you will have more patience with me versus the other site. 1st question, how and when should I tell maureen her Jeep will be sitting outside all winter?

First off there are no stupid questions. I have had to ask a lot of questions and continue to learn each day. These car are not as easy to do as one would think. Looking for parts takes time. That what has been the slowest part of the build for me. It's taken a lot longer to get the car done because of looking for the correct parts. The quadrajet and intake should not be that hard to find I see them all the time. Put the date you need for your car on here and I will keep my eyes open in my area for you. My wife has not had the use of the garage now for 5 years. I just told here I needed the room for the Chevelle and she was ok with that. Maybe a nice dinner before you break the news to her. As far as the tires I plan to have 2 sets, 1 for show and 1 for fun.

Good luck

Ray

Good luck Gary, it's a big undertaking but if that's what you want go for it. I have 8 14" SS wheels with trim rings, only 4 center caps. If you you're looking for certain dates let me know and I'll see what I have. The dates don't mean anything to me so let me know and I can swap them around if you need them.

Good luck Gary , remember Bill Burke as he can also be of help locating parts. He knows everyone across the country and would help . I would also help but I know nothing about what you are about to start .I know nothing about the numbers stuff. If you find parts in this area I will be glad to get them for you.

Thanks guys. I think the next 6 weeks will be spent deciding which area to start first and getting a game plan together.(in the spare time alloted by the wife). I am excited about this, might help my winter depression.

I think telling Maureen that her Jeep will be outside all winter is probably your biggest problem. Car parts, you have so many people who are willing to help you.

Has this come to the forefront because of the last car show that you went to ?

Does this mean you're not going to drive it as much?

Gary, I have 4 14" on my car and a lot different dates and if you need any of them we can work something out as I know a guy that has 8 of them and he only lives 10 miles away...He's kind of diffcult to deal with but we can always try or I can sneak over there when he is touring the United States in his new RV.

Donna was all excited when Ryans Mustang got loaded up for the trip to AZ. , she said "good I get my garage spot back now" , I told her not to get used to it...the 66 needs a little work this winter and garage space will be at a premium.
