Been working 14 hour days at the beach house for my wife, and you think owning a beach house is fun. Had to tear off the laundary room since it was built on top of an old rotten back porch and moved plants and took off the lower siding to expose the floor joists to make sure we had no dry rot. The only dry rot we have is in the lower out side boards. The foundation work begins tomorrow a week early by the contractor. The house is out of level by 6 inches because the cinder block foundation is sinking (it has no footing under it) Once the foundation is in then new windows, doors, siding and a roof. I have to do most of the work myself to be able afford this project. The house was given to my wife by her grandparents 5 years ago. Hopefully I can find some time to still work on the car. Going back to work tomorrow to get some rest. Here's a few pictures. Have a great week everyone.

Looks like you're doing a frame-off on the beach house and the Chevelle at the same time. You're one busy guy Ray.

Things have been moving along. And Hank you are right it will be a frame off project. They took out all the plumbing and water to the house since it was junk. This project is growing by the minute. They have most of the dry rot out and had to add some new floor joists and a couple of new large beams under the house for support. The house was 6 inches low in one corner and 10 inches in the other. Maybe formed for footings by friday. The picture with the layout inside of the house is what the finished inside will look like. The black walls are the new walls with a new 10 x 10 laundary room added back on which I tore off last weekend. I informed my wife last night my car is going to get finished before I jump into this project for her full time on the weekends.

Well house is up and level. Lots of cracks in the walls. The house moved away from the garage section by 2" so we now have a gap between the two sections that will need to be repaired. Pouring the footing monday and the new stem walls by wednesday. None of the doors will open, only the large garage door since it is not expected by the lifting of the house.

The roof will need to be repaired as well. It has a nice buldge in it. We have been told it probably will leak so roof repair will be one of our first things we start looking at.
