Default Ouch

Finally got the cost to finish my engine. All I can say is Ouch. A lot more money then I was hoping. Now I'm not sure I will be able to make a June deadline. For some reason this car has fought me on every level. Keeps needing more money more money and then more money. I'm already way over the budget I figured I needed to finish the car. In fact it is true take what you figured and double it, then add some more to it. I had not counted on doing a second engine. At this rate I need a second job. Just venting.

First engine was a 69 396, worked on and then put in the car for 3 years. Went to finally get it ready to fire and would not turn over by hand. Ended up having water in cylinder No. 2 so it is full of rust. I can redue it for about half the cost of the one I want to put in, but don't want to take it back out down the road to put the correct CTX engine back in.

Ray, I think we all feel your pain. Your story sounds a lot like mine, especially with the second engine. It is always OK to vent here.

I would love to buys cars for what some of those guys think they are worth. Some really make asses of themselves with their uneducated, laughable numbers in the what's it worth section.
