Default Built 350 turbo

Hey guys, I have a 70 chevelle malibu clone with a pretty built 350 in it.Pushing around 365 hp. Now it had the powerglide 2 speed stock but im going to put a th350 in it. Ive been looking at jegs and summit and imnot sure what to beilve. the jegs rebuilt 350 is like 600 bucks havent really heard good news about them. but what about b&m transmissons they have the built 350. id get the heavy duty model not the mega built one. or what about gm performance. Basically what im looking for is a good reliable built tranny for a decent price. this is what ive been lookin at so far.

Im in the same situation. Going from a PG to a TH350. I compared those transmissions your looking at to having a local rebuilder freshen up a used trans. After the shipping was added to the bottom line. It was a little cheaper to have it done local. Not to mention if there is any problems with the trans, there right down the street from me. Good luck and keep us posted.

Where are you located? I am pulling a Th350 will less than 2,000 miles out of my 70 that was rebuilt September 2010. If you are not close shipping would probably make it not worth looking into but if you are anywhere near me, I can make you a great deal....Had the tranny completely overhauled when it was out late last year and it has been connected to a 400 hp (crank) 350. Going to an overdrive transmission and will no longer have use for this.

Epic! Murphys law. Where were you for the last month when I was looking for a TH350? Curious, what did you pay to have it rebuilt? Did you updrade anything?

I paid way, way more than I should have. That being said, most of the internal hard parts were replaced during the rebuild which added to the cost. Initially I was planning on keeping the entire car matching numbers so I was okay with the added cost, then I got to thinking.... Anyway, parts & labor ran something like $1,200 for the rebuild (included pulling & replacing trans.) Had I known where I would be less than 1 year later I would have taken that money and put it toward the billet 200-4R Ckperformance is building right now. Live and learn I guess. It was the first major mechanical expense I incurred on this car and didn't have a defined plan of what I was doing with it just yet.

well the problem is if i had a local mechanic rebuild it id have to find a good core for like $100 bucks or so to do a full blown rebuild and still keep it around $800. and aroud here on craigslist everyones lookin for wayy to much for a tranny that doesnt even move lol plus im not sure what it will run me to have it nearly fully manual with the option to throw it in drive for the city limits. i know its auto/manual as is but i want it calibrated to be basically manual with auto capibility
