Default Lost my new position after a week.

Well, not really. After a week being in the store, and the owner having watched and listened to me all week,he greeted me at the door this morning with a high five and said we gotta talk.I knew it was coming, good news but in a bad way for me. He wants me to be his sales manager, which is the number 2 spot in the dealership. This really got me thinking now,as most of you know I was leery of the first promotion.Maureen says go for it,but do I really want the responsibilty again at this point in my life?On the other hand the way things are in the economy,do I pass it up?The perks are great and I will honestly be able to bank half of my pay.I got until Monday morning to decide, this really got me upset!

Gary,
I say go for it. You have what it takes to do the job + more. Go into it with the attitude of how you can help the owner and employees make a bigger mark.
No cockiness, just confidence.

Just my thoughts.

Gary I have always said good things come to good people. Your last year was quite rough, but it gave you time off to work on your car. And a few months back when you said that you were taking your time to make a decision on where you wanted to work, because you wanted it to be until you retired. I guess you made the right decision and I am so happy for you ! Congratulations !!!!
