Default 911

What were you doing on 911?

I remember I had just got to work and went and got a TV to see what was going on. Watching the second plane hit and seeing the towers going down. It's amazing that certain things in our lifes we remember clearly. I can still remember where I was when Presidint Kennedy was shot or when Mt saint Helens erupted.

My prayers go out to all the familys effeted by this after 10 years.

Saw this on another post and thought it was great.

I was sitting at my desk when one of my employees came in and said a plane hit the world trade center. I turned on the radio and a few minutes later the other building was struck. I took off for home to get a tv so we could see what was going on.
My folks had gotten on a plane for las Vegas about an hour earlier so I was concerned for their safety as well as in total disbelief at what was going on.
I was born in 68 so the two tragic events that will stick with me forever are this one and the space shuttle explosion.

I had just taken the kids to school and was home with Leah, who was 5 months at the time. The phone rang and it was David, he told me to turn the TV on. I sat and watched as the news anchors talked about the plane that hit the World Trade center. Then as the morning progressed I was on the the phone again with David when we watched the 2nd plane hit the other tower. I just remember crying for all those innocent people and feeling numb.

I think that most of us will remember that day for the tragic events that transpired. For my younger sister it is a bitter sweet day....her birthday is September 11....

It was a Tuesday.
I was on vacation and getting ready to head out to Pigeon Forge for the Rod Run.
I did go and people down there were saying gas would get real expensive but i stayed anyway.

I just saw this thread.

I was working in my shop and went into town to get some parts. There were about four or five guys huddled around a radio at the counter. I asked what was going on and they filled me in. We sat and listened together for a while.

I was in Sixth grade when the space shuttle exploded. I remember Mt. St. Helens, too.

..........and I remember 2007. Every night I spent in a place I hated while people were trying to kill me. I was in Iraq. Tikrit to be exact. I hate that place. I still live it sometimes when I go to sleep. ....Now THAT, ...is a vivid memory.

I was a young Infantryman in the Army at Ft. Campbell, KY. I remember thinking "This can't be real." We went on lock down for several days. Little did I know that this day would be the beginning of long deployments, personal losses and things I can't even mention here. Its amazing to think that 10 years later I'm still hard at it but just as a civilian now... On a softer note If I had never deployed I would have never met my beautiful wife and have my two little boys today.
