Default I would give anything in the world....

to stop the pain my daughter is going through. We were very hopeful that this last surgery on her back would be it,but I guess not.Lindsays pain is worse than ever, and it is really tearing me apart seeing her in tears every time I see her.It is so bad,she wants to quit grad school, and she can't keep the job she loves. She had to give up her dream of showing dogs, which she was one of the top junior handlers in the country.Maureen and I just don't know what to do any more ,the doctors say give it another 6 months for all to heal, but we call bs.Now you guys know why I haven't been around lately......

Sorry to hear about your daughters back. We will keep her in our prayers that the pain will go away and for strength for you and Maureen. No parents wants to see their children hurting, and if you are like me I would trade places with mine if it would keep them from getting hurt. Thanks for sharing.

Tell her I definitely understand her pain. I had my spine crushed in the Army and every year it gets a little worse. This year I started using a wheel chair. I didn't want to, but it turns out the pain is a LOT better when I can wheel around. My bad days are bad, and my good days aren't very good.

Allow all the swelling and trauma from the surgery to go down and heal. She may just feel good enough to walk. Strenuous activity will be out of the question, even when she feels good. How about being hotrod builder that can't walk half the time? I started my own shop again because I can't work for anyone else with any regularity. Dreams will still be attainable, she'll just have to make some adjustments to get them.

Tell her to keep her head up. Better times are coming. I promise.

Gary,
I am so sorry to here about your daughter's pain.
I sure hope she starts feeling better soon.

When it comes to the pain you and Maureen are feeling I understand completely.
There is not a worse feeling in the world than to see your child in pain.
I'm not just saying this to try and make you feel better,
I really do understand. Kendall, our oldest daughter has cystic fibrosis. When she gets sick, and ends up in the hospital I would give anything to trade places with her.

I sure pray for your daughter to feel better, and look forward to reading a post from you some day soon that says all is well.

I thought the last surgery would take care of things, sorry it hasn't worked out, yet. There is always hope Gary and I hope for the best for her. It's harder to watch your kids suffer than to go through the pain yourself. I've known enough people with back problems and it is the worst. We'll keep her in our thoughts and prayers. Hang in there, there is always more that can be done.
