Default Freedom of Speech...a thing of the past ?

I usually really try to stay away from political things on this site. But this has really got me upset.

The United States of America is known as the "Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave". Lately I have had to ask, is that really true ? We ask young men and women to put their lives in danger and enlist in the Military. The government then sends them to foreign countries, puts them in danger and ask them to do things no human being should ever do. Then when they get home they are abandoned. Our vets are homeless, hungry, in need of medical attention and they don't get the help they need.

Now it has come to my attention that last week our President, in secret, signed into law "HR 347" which makes protesting a felony. This law bans protesting near Secret Service Agents and gives them the freedom to determine if a person should be arrested.

Freedom of speech...it is a thing of the past ?

Check out this video which talks about this law.

No. Freedom died when a young child got suspended from school for holding a friggin' PENCIL like a gun!!! ...Or the kid that got suspended for eating a pop tart wrong and it resembled a gun.

It truly is a sad day and it will only get worse until we get rid of this communist government and repeal most of the laws that were passed in the four years.

Alan, I usually let things roll off my back. But my 15 yr old daughter is very outspoken. She raises money and does a walk every year for Children's Cancer, she is involved in an anti bulling club at school, she is in a club for acceptance of all sexual orientations, she helps wrap and deliver presents for all the family we adopt at Christmas and she does so much for others. When she found out that her right to protest against things that she does not think are fair, she was livid and that made me start thinking about everything that has been taken away from her. I am still fuming.

And the sad thing... most of the sheeple are "content." They're completely oblivious and out of touch with what is going on behind their back. If you speak out, you are labeled extreme/religious zealot.

I have been feeling out more and more of my coworkers and friends. I'm weeding out all the ones that I feel cannot be saved. I refuse to play nice with people who vote for a living and think they have the right to have the government take away my rights because it makes them feel safer.

We live in a republic, not a democracy! The individual is protected from mob rule. (Or at least the founders set it up that way)
