Default Very Stressful Drive Home Today

We left Ohio this morning at 5:30 AM and headed south ,stopped a couple hours into the trip for a bite to eat and topped the tank just to keep from stopping again. Went on south for a little bit and noticed the vert was skipping a little but and got progressively worse with sputtering and occaisional small backfiring .I thought I knew what the problem was as it had happened before in Mississippi so I kept going until I was about a half tank of gas down and stopped and filled up with premium gas with a bottle of gas treatment and continued on. I did this every time I got down to half a tank of gas all the way to Knoxville but the old girl was not happy but was better with every fill up. By the time we got to the Georgia line she was pretty happy again with very minor sputtering but now Im going to give her a tune up ,she just dont like watery gas or whatever it was I got for gas .I wasnt sure in the beginning that we were going to make it home but we finally got here with frayed nerves .We arrived home at 4 PM which was actually pretty good time wise considering all the extra stops I made and all the lane rangers in the fast lane that would not put their foot on the gas. We had a great time other than that watery gas issue . By the way ,I think there is a special place in HELL for slow driving people in the left lane.

Glad you made it home. Might want to check the fuel pressure or the fuel filter. Might be gas or something is about to go out. Fuel pump might be starting to go out or the fuel filter might be starving your car for gas if its getting clogged up. Just some thoughts. Could even be points or condenser if you are still running them or a coil heating up and not working properly.

It was most definitely bad fuel ,but I will be changing plugs and fuel filter and see what difference it makes.

I am just getting around to catching up on the threads flash. I am so sorry that you had problems on your way home. But I am so happy that you made it home safely.

This was the first year, even with taking 3 vehicles, that we didn't have any problems. But now I hear about you, one of the Michigan guys blew out 2 tires on his trailer and the trailer hit a car and then Jeff lost his mom while at the show.

There were a few times when I thought we would be stuck on the side of the road but it finally started running better.

I had planned on getting the vert out today and driving around some and see how she would act now after sitting a little while but had to work today instead .I still need to change the plugs and fuel filter when time allows.

Yes Im at work and BORED ,just waiting on the phone to ring with something to do. Worked here for almost 16 years and never had to work on saturday of the kids coming back before .
